Next World Cup 2014 in Brazil
The next FIFA World Cup will be held in the year 2014 in Brazil. It will take place between 13 June 2014 to 13 July 2014. Brazil will host the world cup for the second time in history.
Brazil has already qualified for the 2014 World Cup as they are the hosts and it is the only country so far to qualify.

Octopus Paul makes correct Prediction Video
An octopus named Paul has correctly predicted all of Germany's results in the FIFA 2010 world cup, making it a worldwide celebrity appearing in all news media.
Paul the octopus is put in a tank with 2 transparent boxes which has some food in it, each box represents a country and for the recent Semi-Final match of Germany vs. Spain it had chosen to eat the food from the Spain box! And the prediction came correct.

World Cup and Vuvuzela Horns
The South African world cup is making news for it's Vuvuzela - a long blowing horn which makes a loud decibel smashing sound. Many including the players and the commentators are annoyed by the Vuvuzela sound but there are also some who don't mind it as it is part of the South African football culture.
The World's Largest Vuvuzela (35 m long) has also been created in South Africa by Hyundai and a local South African advertising agency for the FIFA 2010 World Cup.

World Cup 2010 Mascot Zakumi
The official mascot for the FIFA World Cup 2010 is Zakumi - an anthropomorphised leopard with green hair. His name comes from "ZA", the international abbreviation for South Africa, and "kumi", a word that means "ten" in various African languages. The mascot's colours reflect those of the host nation's playing strip – yellow and green.
Zakumi's official motto is "Zakumi's game is Fair Play"!

Official World Cup Song Waka Waka
The official song of the FIFA World Cup 2010 is called "Waka Waka" and is sung by Shakira and the band Freshlyground from South Africa. It is sang in both English and Spanish language.
The song is based upon a traditional African soldiers' song named Zangalewa. Freshlyground and Shakira will perform this song at the pre-tournament Kick-Off concert in City of Johannesburg on June 10, 2010. They will also perform it at the opening ceremony and at the final on July 11, 2010.
